Mechanical Engineer - Mechanical and Utilities Process Technology

Responsibilities

 

  • Provide quality design and support for utilities systems (compressed air, chilled water, steam, hot oil, process, and other mechanical) at Eastman sites 
  • Lead engineering studies and perform calculations/evaluations in the design of equipment and systems for mechanical utilities at manufacturing sites 
  • Develop mechanical designs and specifications that form the basis for placing purchase orders for equipment and contracts for installation of the equipment and systems
  • Prepare specifications and operating instructions for mechanical equipment 
  • Participate in commissioning of new and modified systems
  • Perform fluid flow modeling and troubleshooting
  • Develop and maintain utilities distribution models
  • Effectively and efficiently manage projects; Participate in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned capital projects
  • Mentor and provide guidance for less experienced engineers 
  • Provide leadership and contribute to applicable engineering standards

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, standards and codes (ASME, API, NFPA, ANSI, etc)
  • Experience with utility system design and support is highly preferred
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
