Overview
The Marketing Leader for Next-generation Copolyester Innovation (NGCI) platform is responsible for leading the organization in defining the growth opportunity that informs the investment case. This person will work in conjunction with the technology platform leader to synchronize the growth plan with the technology plan. Both marketing and business development will report to the Marketing Leader enabling them to drive lead projects that are proof points that scale across the identified addressable market. This integration will drive better project management and alignment with Plastics resources.
Location: Hybrid role based in Kingsport, TN (relocation package available)
Responsibilities
- Defining the Platform’s Growth Opportunity: the addressable market for the NGCI platform, NGCI performance that scales across multiple applications, and the sequencing of projects to inform early investment choices.
- Driving Lead Projects: achieving the critical path for stage gate projects through their team by testing high impact choices, relentlessly engaging the market, gaining alpha commitment, and defining market strategies to activate the market.
- Alignment and Integration w/Plastics Business: working through the existing market segment teams, gain commitment w/commercial team to engage the market, and deliver on platform milestones.
- Build the Growth Case: build the 5-7 year growth case linking progress of lead projects to the activation of the addressable market and what must be true to realize the case.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; strategic marketing or related discipline. MBA degree highly preferred
- 10+ years prior experience in an industry-related sales, marketing, or product management
- Strong business/financial acumen
- Demonstrated knowledge of marketing acumen / tools or frameworks to enable business & marketing excellence, Stage-Gate, etc. – EBME expert (or experience with a similar frameworks outside of Eastman)
- Strong technical/IP knowledge, market and customer strategy and planning experience
- Extensive knowledge of global markets/customers
