Role Profile:

Location: Kingsport, TN

Eastman is seeking a Market Development Manager for our Specialty Plastics division, focusing on the Appliances markets. This role involves developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives to drive and sustain growth in assigned market segments. Responsibilities include creating and implementing market plans, monitoring their effectiveness, and making necessary adjustments. The role also involves managing Stage Gate Projects, serving as a marketing subject matter expert, and collaborating with various stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Growth: Gate 3 and Gate 5 Yr2 Revenue 
  • Growth: New Business from Market Development & Innovation (Yr1 NB Close)
  • Productivity: Launch effectiveness (Actual Yr2 Revenue vs. Gate5 target)
  • Capabilities: Provide marketing expertise and serves as an expert in EBME (Enabling Business and Marketing Excellence) framework. Provide coaching to other marketers as needed. 

Responsibilities:

  • Leads or supports growth projects as a Marketing Leader or Project Leader in Stage Gate projects (Gate3 or Gate5); serves as an expert on EBME framework and coaches other Market Development Managers as needed. 
  • Creates understanding of value of Eastman offerings vs. alternatives by developing Economic Value Estimates (EVE™) with Product Manager and Technology. Create, communicate and capture value by working with account team on specific alpha and beta customers. 
  • Establishes and tracks metrics to ensure post launch efforts are contributing to segment’s strategy and performance; provides recommendation to Marketing leaders if changes are needed
  • Develops transition plans and materials as well as provides coaching to Sales and other supporting functions in preparation for a new product launch (sales collaterals, market activation plan, market activation to territory management plan, etc.)
  • Interfaces with leverage points through the value chain to identify potential product and application opportunities. Develop talking points to remove barriers, prevent value leakage and accelerate activation with value chain. 
  • Responsible for developing offers (product, service and sustainability) that resonates with N America appliances (small & large) customers. 
  • Contributes to the development of Addressable Market Maps and support 5-year strategic playbook fine tuning. 

Qualifications:

  • Must have had a customer facing role or other commercial experience prior to this role
  • 8+ years prior experience in marketing, marketing excellence or relevant product marketing roles. Product management and sales experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical or marketing discipline is required. MBA degree preferred
  • Strong business and marketing acumen.
