Job Description:

 

Centralized Maintenance and Service Department is seeking an Industrial Truck Mechanic Helper.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

This role will service, repair, and maintain Fleet equipment which consists of the following: light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks, passenger cars, emergency vehicles, construction equipment, farm equipment, earthmoving equipment, forklifts, pallet jacks, personnel carriers, and various types of specialized equipment which are gasoline, diesel, electric or LOP powered.

Qualifications:

 

  • HS Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

 

Education / Experience:

  • Associate degree / Technical Certification or equivalent in Mainttenance, preferably in the field of Automotive Service.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a mechanic at a dealership or automotive type shop.
  • Proficient in computer and diagnostic equipment usage.

 

Preferred:

  • Maintenance background preferred in areas such as hydraulics, electronics, computerized systems / diagnostics, diesel, welding, electrical & mechanical troubleshooting, and transmissions.
  • Any ASE or equivalent Technician Certification is preferred.
  • Any experience in the maintenance of mobile, heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts, earthmoving equipment, heavy duty trucks, etc. is preferred.

Future Requirements:

 

  • Upon selection, the team member will be required to complete the Eastman Chemical, Maintenance Mechanic with Electrical Specialty (MME) Apprentice Program will be required if employed.
  • Must have achieved Eastman’s required score levels on the WorkKeys assessments within 12 months of hire date (exception for internal candidates hired prior to 2005):
    • WorkKeys required score levels:
      • Reading for Information / Workplace Documents - Level 6
      • Locating Information / Graphic Literacy - Level 5
      • Applied Mathematics - Level 6
