LOCATION: KINGSPORT, TN

We are seeking a highly-skilled  and experienced HR Manager to join our team.  In this role, the HR manager would support Vice President(s) and related teams within a client organization. Focus is on driving people outcomes in support of the organizational strategy. Strong co-operation and collaboration with all HR partners, CoE’s and business stakeholders are must have assets.

 

Responsibilities: 
To be successful in this role, the individual in this position will need to excel at consultation and coaching, building rapport, diagnostic and analytical problem solving, customer service, advocacy and communications. 

 

Key Accountabilities:
- Provides HR consulting services to stakeholders regarding processes managed, in both proactive and reactive ways.
- Develops and implements HR strategies/outcomes that align with the organization’s priorities, in collaboration with partners HR CoE’s, Regional HR, Legal and other groups. 
- Support local or company-wide HR processes or initiatives to gain adoption and desired outcomes with the client organization.
- Analyze trends and identify issues in and across teams, synthesize results of analysis and makes sound recommendations.
- Facilitate the building/ development of talent capabilities to support the business strategy. 
- Aides/advises on building leader capability in various levels of people managers to facilitate an open, inclusive, values-based environment that enables effective employee experience. 
- Manages complex employee relations cases.  Provides coaching and counseling to people managers and employees.  Escalate to more senior team members or team lead when necessary.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Instills trust and confidence by maintaining objectivity and clearly communicating rationale behind recommendations. Remains composed, patient and professional at all times.
- Fosters a culture of ethical behavior. Ensures the client organization follows Eastman and HR policies and regulations, as well as local workforce laws. Ensures business leaders are making decisions and taking actions that are in accordance with them. Mitigate potential risk to the company.
- May be included as team member or may lead other various HR related projects with a wider focus on the organization or geography of which is part of.

  

Qualifications

 


- BS/BA degree required.
- Advanced degree in HR preferred. PHR/SHRM-CP preferred or equivalent working experience.
- Years of Experience Required: 5+ years of relevant, HR Focused work experience.

 

 

Skills:
- Strong business acumen and people acumen, and ability to consult, coach and influence business leaders at a leader and managerial level around complex HR decisions.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong systems-thinking ability. Demonstrable experience in analyzing business issues and providing scalable HR solutions that address & align to broader business requirements.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, and achieve results in a fast-paced, matrixed team environment.
- Ability to manipulate and analyze HR data and drive solutions or recommendations based on data insights.
- Demonstrated knowledge of US employment laws such as EEOC guidelines, FLSA and ADA in US or equivalent labor laws in international locations.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and cultures.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficient in HRIS systems and other HR-related software, as well as Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience in another HR function, such as Talent Management, Organization Design, Talent Acquisition, Compensation or Benefits a plus.
