Global Trade and Automation Analyst

  • Function as a key resource for global trade analytical matters, including monthly and quarterly reporting to senior leadership.
  • Execute ad hoc real time analyses to support Eastman trade activities
  • Comply 100% with, understand, and communicate all relevant Import and Export Trade Compliance regulations (United States), including, but not limited to Office of Foreign Assets Control, Customs & Border Protection, Bureau of Industry  Security, U.S. Department of State Trade Controls, U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Drug Enforcement Administration, ITAR, Anti-Boycott, Sanctions Programs and Embargos, Chemical Weapons Conventions, EPA export regulations (TSCA, FIFRA), FDA, etc. to the broader team and various businesses
  • Maintain working knowledge of the existing Federal and State import/export regulations 
  • Supervise and participate in auditing of internal/external processes and individual transactions 
  • Proactively drive improvements to trade compliance, awareness and processes which will help to lower the companies risk profile
  • Conduct impact analyses based on various trade scenarios
  • Calculate captured and potential savings in global duty mitigation programs, such as Free Trade Agreements, and duty suspensions.
  • Assist the business with trade analyses and what if scenarios to address general trade questions
  • Maintain positive continuity in analytical services to the business
  • Partner with Government Affairs 
  • Continue value proposition of FTZ; identify new product streams
  • Support other aspects of Legal in trend analysis, exposures, etc. 
  • Continue to develop automation, dashboards and reports across Global Trade and Compliance


Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Mathematics; Master’s degree is desired
  • Prior experience in commercial, marketing, data analytics, or relevant technical roles is preferred 
  • Strong business/marketing/data analytics acumen
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work
  • Demonstrated adaptability to rapidly changing business environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, consistently demonstrating ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic work environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office tools, specifically with advanced Microsoft Excel techniques such as pivot tables; Power BI experience is desired
  • Good attention to detail, organizational skills, time management skills, and strong bias for action.
