Global Capital Procurement Representative

Position Description

This position will support our Global Capital Procurement organization and will interface with a worldwide array of internal stakeholders and external suppliers alike.
Responsibilities
• Processes purchase requisition for capital goods and services
• Convert these capital purchase requisitions to Purchase Orders
• Clear blocked items and close capital Purchase Orders
• Initiate and coordinate process for vetting new vendors, work with vendors to clear issues
• Resolve blocked invoice issues
• Serve as the contract’s repository coordinator for Global Capital Procurement
• Execute routine Requests for Information and Requests for Proposal / Quotation for capital goods and services
• Balance multiple project expectations at once
• Exercise a high degree of independent judgment to manage day-to-day vendor relationships
• Identify and implement cost savings and avoidance opportunities without impacting service levels
• Work to minimize the total cost of services
• Understand and champion adherence to internal and external policies, regulations and laws
• Seek to become the expert and source of advice in area of assignment
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business / supply chain preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of procurement experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong interpersonal skills; able to forge and collaborate with internal customer/external supplier relationships.
• Understanding of contracts and commercial terms
• Comprehensive knowledge of purchasing and logistics and basic understanding of supply chain management
• Expertise in SAP and/or SAP-Ariba data processing systems preferred
• Ability to comply with existing/quickly adapt to new processes within the organization; Adaptive to change, uncertain circumstances, and embraces challenges
• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in team environment and demonstrate leadership
• Negotiation skills
• Comfortable with conflict
• Presentation skills
