Responsibilities

Responsibilities: Plant Engineering

· Provide day-to-day mechanical engineering support for Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Technology projects. 

· Drive innovation and innovative thinking through engineering approaches and work processes.

· Apply a broad range of mechanical skills to systems including rotating equipment, piping systems, mechanical components, machine design, project estimating, and materials handling.  

· Project management and engineering support for small to mid-sized capital projects including scope definition, estimation, design, specification, installation, and startup. 

· Support operations by troubleshooting equipment, improving reliability, and solving general mechanical problems. 

· Embedded in a manufacturing area for proximity to manufacturing partners and to develop area specific knowledge. 

. Responsibilities: Process Engineering  

· Work with a team of Subject Matter Experts to lead or support projects related to one or more of the following technologies: Mechanical Utilities (steam, cooling water, refrigeration, hot oil, etc.), Machine Design, Solids Handling, Rotating Equipment (pumps, compressors, fans, etc.), Piping Systems (piping, valves, gaskets), Pressure Vessels and Tanks, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Material Selection, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). 

· Support Eastman manufacturing sites around the globe, and provide design support for capital projects of all sizes, including large growth projects 

· Provide modeling and analysis services, troubleshooting, and failure investigation with a

· Focus on innovation and design of equipment, systems, and plants. 

· Develop, adopt, and maintain Corporate and site-specific mechanical engineering standards. 

 

Eastman Engineering Rotational Development Program

· Train and onboard at the corporate headquarters in Kingsport, TN within one of the Plant Engineering Areas for 24 – 36 months and then relocate to one of Eastman’s other US domestic manufacturing sites.  Rotations are based on business need. Following completion of the program, participants will be placed in the position that best suits their skills.

· Serve in a site staff role which could include managing capital projects, providing day-to-day trouble shooting support for manufacturing and maintenance, and/or driving growth initiatives in a multidisciplinary team-oriented environment.

· Develop broad networks and key contacts across the corporation while building engineering and leadership skills in order to support future growth opportunities.

· Flexibility to grow through rotations while experiencing a variety of disciplines, projects and US domestic geographies.

Qualifications

Desired Skills, Attributes, Experience, and Education

· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university. 

· This position is for an entry-level Mechanical Engineer. Less than 2 years of post-graduate experience is preferred.
