Role Description

 

The Finance Director manages a team of financial managers and financial analysts which collectively provides decision support through financial modeling. Provides strategic guidance and recommendations for complex business issues in support of long term segment and corporate financial planning and performance. Develops and drives finance strategy and achievement of functional excellence

Responsibilities

 

  • Provides general direction and financial counsel to executive business leaders and respective business leadership teams
  • Manages team in terms of setting annual plans of work, balancing resources, and driving finance talent development to build divisional capabilities.
  • Coordinates and oversees the application of financial analyses required in support of segment growth strategies, new product platforms, optimization of manufacturing operations, pricing strategies, plant expansion alternatives, and other business scenarios. 
  • Coordinates and oversees operational reviews for specific business areas within the company, and participates in development of strategies.
  • Ensures quality  and fitness of financial deliverables required in support of the 24 month rolling forecast, the annual business plan, the corporate strategy quantification and for the monthly / quarterly analysis package.
  • Develops FP&A vision and contributes to the implementation of leading practices and driving employee engagement
  • Participates on cross functional teams driving key commercial initiatives, execution of M&A, or other similar projects.
  • Long term forecasting and strategic modeling and application of financial acumen in decision support for specific business unit planning and performance
  • Direct supervision across various disciplines and geographies including recruiting and talent development
  • Strategic project and core process leadership 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree required with concentration in Accounting/Finance; MBA preferred
  • 10-15 years of finance and managerial experience, to generally include
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting and discounted cash flow modeling and other financial analysis techniques
  • Synthesis of inputs into clear recommendations and defensible positions
  • Strong advisory and  influence capabilities
  • Ability to develop trust-based relationships internally, externally, and with senior leaders
  • Solid  problem solving and resolution techniques
  • Strategic thinking  applied to business issues as well as finance staffing and overall functional excellence
