This posting is for a Facilities Engineer supporting the Technology Operations division. This individual will report to the Technology Operations Maintenance Manager. This position will have responsibility as a liaison between multiple divisions & execution forces with a focus on maintaining safe, reliable operation of Technology facilities. This candidate will also be the lead for Technology’s Asset Integrity efforts.
Candidate must be flexible, proactive, and have experience with a broad array of engineering areas: Utilities, Reliability, Engineering Standards, etc. Candidate should be able to communicate effectively and function in an innovative, fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team environment.
Responsibilities
- Takes the lead on reliability efforts for Technology to proactively assess and prioritize maintenance needs
- Leads the Technology implementation of Corporate Asset Integrity (AI) standards and procedures – collaborate with corporate subject matter experts (SMEs) for technical content
- Works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Process Safety, and Engineering teams to provide technical support to identify and resolve issues related to Asset Integrity Management (AIM) programs
- Supports immediate Technology Operations facilities reliability events as they arise
- Participates in the weekly maintenance scheduling meetings to gain understanding of maintenance challenges and opportunities. Represent voice of Technology in these meetings.
- Performs detailed maintainability studies and calculations of complexity/system downtime. Help establish good maintenance practices.
- Identifies safety concerns and implement countermeasures to correct potential safety issues via engineering and administrative solutions
- Develops capital projects proposals (work with WWEC to develop preliminary scope & estimate)
- Serves as the Div Rep on any facilities-related capital projects for Technology
- Provides input to Capital Process Mgr (CPM) during capital planning cycle for facilities needs
- Assists CPM with execution of the Technology capital plan
- Facilitates incident investigations and completes corrective action associated with incidents
- Provides input to OMM (or Cost Center Mgr) during CSP Maintenance planning
- Leads or participates in shutdown and start-up activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline required
- 3+ years of experience in an R&D, Engineering and/or Operations preferred
- Familiarity with the SPM (including permitting, LOTO, etc.) is preferred
- Strong working knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines is a plus
- Exhibits good leadership attitudes and behaviors
- Must be a self-starter with a focus on results. Ability to lead and drive challenging projects forward despite uncertainties.
- Must display ownership and a bias for action for assigned area of responsibility
- Must have good troubleshooting skills to analyze process data, understand equipment operations, and determine root causes of failures
- Must be motivated and display initiative
- Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with SAP is preferred, but not required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
