Job Summary & Description:

 

The experienced metal fabricator will perform the following job duties:

  • Fabricates, installs, and repairs process and support equipment (i.e., storage tanks, reactors, duct work, structures, and piping). 
  • Ability to work by Pressure Vessel Codes or on unclassified vessels. 
  • Complete tasks to meet established or stated quality standards.

  • All performance must be within safety and environmental requirements. 
  • Expected to actively and effectively participate in a team environment.
  • Be able to read blueprints and/or drawing/sketches and layout fabrication pieces accordingly.
  • Must work overtime as required.

Candidate Must:

 

  • Complete the Eastman Metal Fabrication Apprenticeship or have an equivalent accreditation recognized by Eastman. 
  • Meet Eastman’s established essential elements of the Metal Fabricator position. 
  • Successfully complete appropriate training for the job.
  • Be capable of providing clear and concise verbal and written communications.
  • Possess and practice good organizational skills.
  • Be a team player.
  • Have, or possess the ability to learn, a general knowledge of the division, safety and regulatory requirements for the division, basic computer skills, and become knowledgeable of a variety of software packages including corporate systems, i.e., Microsoft Office products, Intranet, SAP, computer dispatch system, etc.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety.
  • Be able to accept and provide constructive feedback.

Qualifications:

 

 Experience / Certifications Required:

  • Minimum weld qualifications include GTAW, SMAW, and GMAW for carbon and stainless steels.
  • Must be able to obtain Eastman’s internal weld qualifications
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of applicable experience in metal fabrication.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

WorkKeys Requirements:

 

  • Work Keys score of 4-4-4 is required to begin the Metal Fabrication Apprenticeship.
  • WorkKeys assessment preferred at time of hire.
  • WorkKeys required score levels:
    • Reading for Information / Workplace Documents - Level 4
    • Locating Information / Graphic Literacy - Level 4
    • Applied Mathematics - Level 4
  • Must have achieved Eastman’s required score levels on the WorkKeys assessments within 12 months of hire date.
