Experienced Boom Truck Operator:  Drive, position, set up, and operate various types of boom trucks and other lifting service equipment in the fleet. Installs/dismantles equipment, tanks, structural steel pipe, etc., throughout the plant and offsite locations. Performs pre-trip inspections and routine maintenance of equipment as required. Exercises principles of good judgment, safety, quality management, team management, and good housekeeping in all aspects of the job.

Responsibilities:

 

Job Duties: 

  • Operating mobile boom trucks, telehandlers, forklifts, and tractor trailers
  • Maintaining equipment
  • Inspecting equipment
  • Verifying load weights, performing hand signals, reading and interpreting load charts
  • Observe and comply with all safety protocols
  • Complete all required training

  • If required, must work a twelve (12) hour rotating shift schedule
  • If required, must be able to work overtime periodically, which would include nights and weekends
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding and commitment to safety 
  • Possess the ability to learn the safety and regulatory requirements
  • Be able to accept and provide constructive feedback 
  • Possess basic computer-related communication skills
  • Have a strong work ethic, demonstrating both initiative and a professional attitude

 

 

Salary:

  • Rate of pay will be based upon experience.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

  • Training Certifications or Qualifications
  • NCCCO/CIC/NCCER Certifications or any military certifications for mobile hydraulic cranes with fixed and/or swing cabs preferred but not required
  • Rigging Qualifications
  • Signal Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA and ASME standards
  • 5 years’ experience operating mobile hydraulic cranes and/or boom trucks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • CDL Class A license preferred but not required



 

Requirements:

 

Required:

  • HS Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Provide proof of DOT physical

 

Preferred:

  • WorkKeys assessment preferred at time of hire.
  • WorkKeys required score levels:
    • Reading for Information / Workplace Documents - Level 6
    • Locating Information / Graphic Literacy - Level 5
    • Applied Mathematics - Level 6
  • Must have achieved Eastman’s required score levels on the WorkKeys assessments within 12 months of hire date.
