Electrical Safety Lead

Responsibilities
- Manages the electrical safety program for compliance with OSHA and NFPA 70E.
- Enforcement of NRTL listed equipment.
- Lead the electrical area classification committee, evaluating and assigning new classifications and modifying existing classifications due to equipment/process changes.
- Serve as the SME or incident investigator for electrical incidents.
- Use electrical safety knowledge and extensive experience to make judgement calls to maintain safe work practices and comply with standards.
- Evaluate medical devices to determine if they can be safely used in electrically classified areas.
- Evaluate and determine proper PPE needed for qualified electrical workers.
- Owner of TNO safe practices manual for electrical safety.
- Trapped key interlock contact for TNO.
- Contributing member of the Centralized Maintenance and Services Electrical Safety Team.
- Contributing member of the Combustible Dust Competency Team.
- Corporate support:
- Lead the global Electrical Safety Center of Excellence team.
- Owner of TNO and global electrical procedures and guidelines.
- Trapped key interlock resource for other Eastman sites.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering required.
- CESCP certification preferred.
- 6+ years of experience with managing an electrical safety program required.
- Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70, 70E, 70B, 496, 497, 30, and 505 and OSHA 1910.269 and Subpart S.
- Working knowledge of API RP 500 standard.
- Experience with arc flash calculations in accordance with IEEE 1584 and mitigation techniques, shock hazards and mitigation techniques and shock protection PPE testing and storage requirements.
- Experience working with Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories for field evaluations and limited product certifications (TUV, Intertek, UL, etc.).
- Extensive knowledge of (hazardous) electrically classified locations.
- Experience evaluating portable electronic devices for use in electrically classified locations.
- Combustible dust experience and hazard mitigation techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft office (Easypower or Etap experience considered a plus).
- Proficient organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment.
- Ability to climb ladders and stand for periods of time.
- Experience with electrical generation & distribution equipment up to 13.8kV
- Experience with 480V equipment and maintenance.
