Role Description

The Director, Global Logistics reports to the Vice President of Global Supply Chain and leads a team of over 150+ professionals across the world to execute commercial and supplier strategy and drive business results. The Director is also responsible for distribution safety, customs compliance and has critical impact on customer delivery strategies. 
 

Responsibilities

  • Develops and organizational strategy that balances cost and service to achieve desired business goals and objectives. 
  • Leads Procurement and Operational leadership support for Eastman global sites and customers
  • Drives supplier excellence and innovation in all modes of logistics
  • Understands and articulates logistics options available and associated trade-offs
  • Coordinates across Eastman business to understand and support business strategies
  • Shares ownership of setting, tracking and delivering service on target
  • Promotes system and process innovation 
  • Selects, retains and inspires talent to enable achievement of short-term and long-term aspirations 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant global supply chain and logistics experience. Preferably with a global/multinational organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, Management Sciences or related field required
  • Masters in Supply Chain Management or Business preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities including ability to drive improvements, make decisions, influence others and seek consensus
  • Excellent communication, both written and oral, along with strong organizational and negotiation skills
  • Broad based experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
