Role Description


The Data Security Architect position is a position to be filled on the Data Architecture & Governance team within Enterprise Information Management. The Data Security Architect in this role will provide standards and guidelines for implementing RLS and other types of security to BI developers, architects, and others. This is a unique position within the data teams at Eastman to ensure data is being securely stored, accessed, and retrieved. This architect will work closely with management and other security teams to ensure protection of Eastman’s data assets.



  • Consult with data architects and BI developers on appropriate security practices including RLS topic areas.
  • Provides consultative advice to data architects that enables them to suggest informed risk management decisions. 
  • Researches and communicates opportunities and solutions to overcome internal/external data security challenges, proposes new solutions or enhancements, and recommends best practices to management 
  • Key member of data architecture review board with focus on database and analytics security
  • Perform database audits and security group audits to ensure least privilege
  • Script the automatic addition/removal of RLS security when needed
  • Maintains strong working relationships with individuals and groups involved in managing information risks across the organization. 



  • BS or MA in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field 
  • 5+ years of work experience in information security, especially in data security analysis roles
  • Demonstrated ability to produce innovative risk-based security solutions that enable business capabilities 
  • Strong, proven problem-solving skills and ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems, driving solutions through to completion. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as business acumen and a commercial outlook 
  •  Strong presentation skills, particularly to management audiences 
  • Capability and passion to mentor and influence others Required
