Responsibilities

 

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Analyst to join our finance team. This position is responsible for analyzing cost structures, supporting forecasting and budgeting, and delivering insights that improve profitability and operational efficiency. In this role, you will build technical, analytical, and cross-functional leadership skills that support career development into future roles such as finance manager and other finance and business positions. 


•    Collect, validate, and maintain cost data (materials, labor, overhead) across products, projects, and business units.
•    Prepare standard and ad-hoc cost analyses including product costing, cost-to-serve, margin analyses, and variance analysis (actual vs. forecast / standard).
•    Support monthly close activities related to cost accounting entries and reconciliations.
•    Develop and maintain cost models, standard cost systems, and product cost roll-ups.
•    Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Procurement to identify cost drivers and recommend cost reduction opportunities.
•    Provide analytical support for budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning; assist in scenario and sensitivity analysis.
•    Produce reports, and presentations for Finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
•    Support implementation and optimization of cost-related ERP/BI tools and process improvements.
•    Document processes, controls, and cost accounting policies to ensure compliance and data integrity.

Qualifications

 

•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is a plus.
•    2+ years of experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, or related finance role (manufacturing, distribution, or product-cost environments preferred).
•    Strong Excel skills (including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and modeling). Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP ) and BI tools (e.g., Power BI)  preferred.
•    Demonstrated ability to analyze complex datasets and produce clear, actionable recommendations.
•    Solid understanding of cost accounting concepts (standard costing, absorption, activity-based costing, overhead allocation).
•    Excellent communication skills and ability to convey technical information to non-finance stakeholders.
•    Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
