Responsibilities

 

We are currently seeking a Corporate Cost Accountant to join our Corporate Cost team, which is based in Kingsport, TN, at our global headquarters.  This is a part-time position for a specialized individual contributor who serves as the technical or process expert for specific processes. This position requires conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines and works to build consensus and consistency in areas of responsibility.


Responsibilities of this position will include oversight and stewardship of a global process primarily related to COGS and Inventory.  Some examples of processes managed by this team include EEOA, NRV, LIFO, Intercompany Profit Elimination, Trade Intransits, COGS analysis and trouble-shooting, coordination of annual physical inventory and cycle count process, corporate support of transfer pricing process, coordination of global cost estimate updates, and inventory reporting needed to support Tax filings, SEC reporting, and other corporate needs.
In addition to individual inventory and COGS responsibilities, the role will also include corporate support to facilitate the closing process including specific troubleshooting and issue resolution.

•    Serves as the technical or process expert for a specific process or processes relating to inventory or COGS
•    Acts as a resource for team members with less experience
•    Lead small projects within areas of responsibility with manageable risks and resource requirements
•    Applies knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with other areas
•    Applies accounting principles and standard practices to the classification and recording of financial transactions
•    Creates analyses of the tangible and intangible benefits and costs related to various situations and participates in determining the most appropriate course of action
•    Works independently to perform responsibilities with minimal guidance and oversight
•    Prepares global / consolidated reporting for areas of responsibility such as COGS, OCOGS, or inventory processes, etc. 
•    Completes deliverables required in support of key processes for areas of responsibility and key customers, such as corporate rolling forecast, strategy quantification, and cost structure planning 
•    Identifies areas for improvement or productivity gain, outlines options and proposes recommendations on methods of achievement, and implements accordingly

Qualifications

 

•    Accounting/Finance degree
•    MAcc preferred
•    5+ years of cost accounting experience 
•    SAP Actual Costing/Material Ledger experience preferred

The base salary range for this part-time position is $44,000 to $60,500. ​
