Role Description

 

The Corporate Innovation Consumer Insights Manager will be responsible for championing the voice of the end consumer across Eastman’s application platforms and with external customers.  This position will manage multiple consumer insight projects with various internal stakeholders while leveraging results to support multigenerational project planning, market activation strategies, and customer engagement worldwide.  The individual in this role will be seen as a thought-leader on consumers within Eastman and by Eastman’s customers.  This role reports to the Global Consumer Insights & Research Team leader within Eastman’s Strategy, Insights, & Analytics division.

Responsibilities

 


•    Manage multiple consumer insight projects, quantitative and qualitative, with various stakeholders across Eastman.  
•    Synthesize and translate research into actionable insights delivered to internal and external stakeholders through reports, infographics, presentations, etc.
•    Identify opportunities to insert the voice of the consumer into discussions and projects and launch consumer insight projects to support those opportunities. 
•    Keep abreast of industry and consumer trends in relevant markets and share those trends with internal stakeholders.  
•    Domestic and international travel, up to 25%, is required for research management and customer engagement.  

 

Performance Measurements:
•    Superior consumer insight project management and execution.  
•    Support of multiple Stage Gate projects and working groups across Eastman. 
•    Position Eastman as a strategic thought-partner with key customers worldwide.   
•    Expand the demand for consumer insight projects within Eastman.
•    Position Eastman as a thought leader on consumers internally and externally.

 

Education and Experience

 


•    A Master’s Degree or MBA from an accredited college or university is required.
•    Business, marketing, economics, or public policy degrees preferred but not required.

 

Preferred Skills/Experience:
•    Five to ten years’ experience in consumer research roles on the client or vendor side.
•    Superior oral and written communication skills.
•    Strong organizational and project management skills required.
•    Critical thinking, creativity, enthusiasm, and bias for action.  
•    Experience navigating large, matrixed organizations.
•    Experience with SPSS, SAS, or similar analytical tools.
