Job Summary

 

This role is for a project leader focusing on a variety of programs enabling the Circular Economy at Eastman. This project leader will develop and modify business processes related to integrating circular solutions into routine business processes within an accelerated time frame by leading cross-functional teams using project leadership methodologies (DMAIC, Business Design, Lean, Change Management, Agile, and others as needed).

 

This project leader will be called upon to deliver solutions to some of Eastman’s biggest challenges. In this role, the leader is working on a highly visible growth area for Eastman – Circular Economy.  Eastman has announced and is working on more than $1 billion in hard-to-recycle plastic recycling facilities in Kingsport and across the globe.  This assignment is an opportunity to gain exposure to complex problems with high management visibility, broaden your knowledge and understanding of company cross-functional processes, and gain experience in leading diverse groups to deliver results on complex projects.  The candidate will receive project leadership training as needed to be able to deliver results. They will also receive consultation from several Master Black Belts throughout the job assignment and will also work with an assigned project champion for each project.

 

The ideal candidate will have strong project leadership skills as well as a desire to be an integral part of Eastman’s transformation into a leader in the Circular Economy on a global scale.

Responsibilities:
Lead cross-functional business process design teams.  Teams can be both local and global.
Apply project leadership tools / methodologies to develop new and modify existing business processes.
Deliver effective people-driven results using Change Management methodologies and tools.
Maintain appropriate project documentation including project charter, progress updates, measures, control plan, and final report.
Communicate & transfer best practices, techniques, & tools to peers & other improvement teams.

 

 

Qualifications

 

Education:
Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of a BS in a business or technical field.


Experience:
5+ years project leadership experience
Prefer Six Sigma experience

Skills:
Highly organized approach to delivering outcomes
Strong initiative 
Highly flexible in a constantly changing environment
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a team environment
Strong analytical skills
Strong implementation and follow-through skills
Strong presentation skills, particularly to management audiences
