Description

This position is for an experienced Chemical Engineer as part of the Fibers Process Development group, in Fibers Technology Division.  Work involves process improvement and cost reduction efforts to produce various Fibers products in the division.  The roles supports the efforts of Fibers Manufacturing and Quality divisions.

Responsibilities

•    Develop strong understanding of the characteristics, manufacturing processes, and chemistry related to various fibers products produced in the division
•    Complete process improvement projects that improve quality, streamline manufacturing, or reduce production related costs
•    Effectively utilize problem solving and statistical techniques to address process improvement opportunities
•    Develop meaningful relationships with manufacturing, quality, and technology partners to complete project work
•    Provide mentorship as needed to other engineers in the Fibers Process Development group
•    Championing a Zero Incident Mindset in the Technology and Manufacturing environments, as well as identifying and driving safety improvement projects
•    Communicate effectively with all team members and stakeholders
•    Develop connection to the business needs and forecasts of the Fibers Division to drive project creation and timely completion

Qualifications

•    B.S. degree or higher in Chemical Engineering from accredited college or university
•    Three (3) or more years of experience in manufacturing environment
•    Strong desire and behaviors for working safely and looking out for the wellbeing of others
•    Demonstration of sound technical and problem solving skills
•    Bias for action, ability to multitask, meet deadlines and prioritize work
•    Good communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively work with cross functional teams
