This position is for an experienced Process Improvement chemical engineer in the Methanolysis Process Development group within the Plastics & Circular Development Division (PCDD) in Technology. This role will be supporting the Methanolysis area with a focus on driving various initiatives to ensure we operate our plants safely, we deliver a quality product to our customer base, and we optimize the reliability, productivity, and cost of our manufacturing assets.

  

Responsibilities

 

  • Demonstrating safety leadership by identifying and resolving hazards, partnering with operations to complete PHA-required actions, and participating in Actively Caring Talk (ACT) interactions. 
  • Supporting manufacturing by providing timely assistance to resolve production processing problems.  In this role, candidates may be required to work non-standard hours or shift work. Flexibility in scheduling is essential to meet operational needs, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Partnering with colleagues as part of cross-functional teams including technology, manufacturing, businesses, HSES, Engineering and other functions to drive process improvements and business initiatives.
  • Providing timely communications to management and project stakeholders by communicating project needs, value, priorities and decisions to ensure project success.
  • Serve as division rep for capital projects.
  • Developing and implementing process improvement projects to increase capacity, improve process control, reduce costs, improve yield, and improve safety.

Qualifications

  •  Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or higher in Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 3+ years of direct manufacturing support required
  • 5+ years of experience preferred
  • Ability to make decisions with limited information
  • Familiarity with industrial plant environments and equipment is required
  • High level of adaptability
  • Must be a self-starter with a focus on results. Ability to lead and drive challenging projects forward despite uncertainties
  • Confident in working within a matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Comfortable challenging peers and supervision to develop creative solutions
  • Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills
