As a Business Intelligence Analyst in Eastman’s EIM (Enterprise Information Management) organization, you design, develop, and implement information systems integrating operational and business data to generate insight and improve enterprise performance. You work collaboratively with various functional units, business, information technology, and data science teams to understand needs, capabilities, and gaps and then create solutions that help us increase productivity, improve quality, and meet customer demand reliably and cost-effectively. And you do so in a collaborative workspace where creativity is the core of your success.
Apply techniques to extract data from various internal and external source systems, transform it based on business rules, load into enterprise data warehouse and present it to the users for tactical and strategic decision-making purposes. All these are performed by leveraging BI technology and market best-practices.
Act as a team lead or a go-to person within the agile team and provide technical expertise and counsel in the design, development, and maintenance of major, complex BI solutions.

• Designs and implements data warehousing projects in a Microsoft environment using the Microsoft BI Stack
• Designs and implements Business Intelligence Data Model projects in a Microsoft environment using SQL Server technologies and/or Power BI.
• Provides contribution to a team responsible for the design, development, and implementation of mission critical business intelligence solutions.
• Designs, develops, and optimizes ETL data transformations to propagate data from operational systems to the data warehouse and other reporting tools such as Power BI. 
• Designs, develops, and optimizes enterprise level reporting, and other business intelligence solutions, and trains others in the use of data analytics tools.

 

Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in computer science but will consider another technical degree where you can also demonstrate strong computer science skills learned in some other setting.
• 3+ years of work experience in data integration, relational databases and SQL and visual analytics preferred.
• For internal candidates, relevant experience is a big plus, but we’re also willing to allow for some on-the-job development if you’ve got a track record of learning quickly.  The more of the following areas of expertise you have, the better you fit what we are looking for: 
     o Data integration – data modeling, extract/transform/load, job automation/orchestration
     o Relational databases and SQL – Microsoft SQL Server is a plus
     o Visual analytics, especially with Microsoft PowerBI and SQL Server Reporting Service
• Demonstrated ability to produce business intelligence solutions that enable business capabilities preferred.
• Strong, proven problem-solving skills and ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems, driving solutions through to completion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as business acumen.
• Strong presentation skills, particularly to management audiences.
