Responsibilities

We are seeking a part-time Athletic Program Coordinator for Eastman’s Recreation Department. This position is responsible for coaching and coordinating athletic clubs - specifically tennis, pickleball, bowling, disc golf and table tennis.  The successful applicant will be expected to work an average of 24 hours per week year-round.  This role reports to the Recreation Team Lead.

 

Responsibilities:
•    Coordinating athletic programs, including tennis, pickleball, bowling, disc golf and table tennis. This involves creating schedules, developing team rosters, and coordinating tournaments, as well as obtaining, maintaining and staging equipment.
•    Recruit officials, score keepers and other support roles.
•    Reserve playing fields, gyms, courts, etc. as needed.
•    Proactively and routinely communicating with club members.
•    Providing instructional coaching for pickleball and tennis.  
•    Serving as ERC Club representative for various member-led clubs and liaise between clubs and Recreation leadership, providing consultation to ensure continuity in program delivery, adherence to company policies and Recreation Club bylaws.
•    Managing the budget for each sport.
•    Supporting miscellaneous employee and alumni events in the Recreation organization.

Qualifications

•    High school diploma or equivalent (GED). A bachelor’s degree in physical education, athletic administration or related field is preferred.
•    Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in athletics and coaching.
•    Proficiency in tennis, pickleball, bowling, disc golf and table tennis.
•    High degree of professionalism with excellent organization, attention to detail and follow through, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
