Job Description:
Utilities Environmental Services Department is seeking an Air Emissions Testing Coordinator.
The Air Emission Testing (AET) Coordinator will provide support for TNO’s utilities and manufacturing divisions and work with process personnel to ensure compliance with appropriate regulations by collection of emission samples. The AET Coordinator will be required to operate portable monitoring equipment to measure emissions at various types of process vents and ports including powerhouse stacks and will be responsible for the calibration and maintenance of emission monitors and recording of calibration results. The position requires moderate to high physical exertion for extended periods of time in occasionally inclement conditions and includes strenuous climbing of stacks and other structures. The Air Emission Testing Coordinator will report to the Team Manager of the Utilities Environmental Operation and Service Air Testing.
Schedule: The normal work schedule will be 6:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Thursday, with some overtime and travel required depending on business needs.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include:
- Accurate and representative collection of boiler stack and process vent gas samples for analysis.
- Use portable and fixed monitors and/or analyzers to measure emissions at process vents or ports and boiler stack ports.
- Responsible for calibration of test analyzers and equipment to ensure accuracy of test results.
- Responsible for data entry, integrity of various electronic data handling systems and data collection software programs.
- Performs manual calibrations and routine maintenance on test trailer analyzers and analyzer systems.
- Perform manual calibrations and accuracy verification of stack testing monitors and equipment.
- Responsible for set up and operation of the appropriate stack or vent gas collection equipment as defined in the applicable state or federal regulations.
- Responsible for maintaining sampling equipment.
- Performs all required QA/QC work including chain of custody forms, state and independent audit forms, and test spreadsheets with appropriate calculations.
- Responsible for completing simple laboratory analyst activities such as weighing, preparation of solutions, glassware cleaning, measuring volumes of solutions, and filling out laboratory data sheets.
- Responsible for manual operations such as inserting/removing probes and instruments, and applicable pipefitting and electrical wiring.
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or GED is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Experience:
- Previous Air Emission Testing knowledge is a plus but not required.
Job Requirements:
- Must pass a physical test consisting of:
- Climbing several flights of stairs; up to 164 steps carrying up to 55 pounds and ladders up to 133 steps while carrying a 10-pound ELSA air pack.
- Must be capable of clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess basic computer skills (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Internet).
Future Job Requirements:
- Upon selection, the team member will be required to complete the EIA/PIA structured training program.
- Must have achieved Eastman’s required score levels on the WorkKeys assessments within 12 months of hire date (exception for internal candidates hired prior to 2005):
