Red Team Analyst position is an individual contributor role that is focused on evaluating cyber security defenses and controls by assuming an adversary role. This role requires knowledge and experience in offensive IT security practices in order to test new security applications, implementation of security tools, and support IT Security initiatives. Red team analyst is acquiring higher level knowledge while working with a moderate level of supervision.



  • Apply a strong knowledge of cyber security to all areas within the Eastman environment (security trends, cyber threats, insider risks and security defenses)
  • Plan and execute red team engagements/pipeline
  • Identify new ways to penetrate into Eastman computer and networks
  • Evaluate and improve security defenses and alerts
  • Participate in internal/external engagements that extend across multiple teams and document results
  • Apply a strong understanding of how to evade common security tools
  • Understand and appropriately use development skills to automate processes
  • Evaluate security vulnerabilities and define security requirements and alternatives
  • Provide security consulting as needed for individuals and projects within IT
  • Collaborate on product evaluations and final recommendations
  • Present information to upper management (written or oral) as needed
  • Participate in research on security trends in the industry and help develop proposals on how Eastman should react
  • Perform environment clean up after engagements



  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of security defense systems
  • Strong analytical skills in threat, vulnerability and endpoint detection analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to produce innovative risk-based security assessments that identifies the gap in defenses
  • Strong, proven problem-solving skills and ability to drive engagements to completion
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong presentation skills, particularly to management audiences
  • Demonstrated capability to mentor and influence others



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or other related fields, from an accredited university. Equivalent military or professional experience with an AS degree will be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in information systems/security is required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in vulnerability assessments, professional penetration testing, bug hunting, or capture the flag (CTF) experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in programming/scripting languages: Python, Java, C, C#, PHP, Ruby, Perl, Bash etc
  • Advanced knowledge in system exploits (e.g. host-based controls bypass), network exploitation (e.g. scanning, evasion, MITM), Wi-Fi hacking, mobile platform and application hacking (e.g. Android or IOS), web application exploitation
