Description:

 

The Price Management CoE Leader is a key, global leadership role reporting to the Director, Global Marketing, Product and Price Management.  By strengthening the use of consistent practices and rigorous analytics, the Product and Price Management CoE is central to the execution of Eastman’s Business Operating Model and transforming the approach to value management at Eastman.

The CoE ensures the use of rigorous commercial techniques tailored to each business type.  The key areas of commercial execution for the CoE include development of tools and best practices in pricing and profitability management and offer management.  In addition, the Price Management CoE Leader supports CoE efforts to deliver this work efficiently through technology and the integration with SAP, Salesforce.com and other enabling technologies as needed.

The Price Management CoE Leader is responsible for advancing capabilities across Eastman’s business organizations, product lines and streams in terms of effective price management strategies, differential value analysis, and execution for value capture through pricing, contracting, etc.  The result of this individual’s role is maximized variable margin and ROIC through the deployment of world-class price management from strategy through execution within the business organizations.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

 

  • Supervise a global team of Pricing Solutions and Operations Representatives
  • Establish strong relationships with business units and functional partners to ensure that the CoE is delivering value
  • Lead and supervise a diverse team to continuously seek, evaluate, test, and deploy value management best practices at Eastman
  • Identification and scoping of improvement opportunities with recommendations for prioritization and best approach for development/implementation
  • Clearly understand Eastman’s pricing processes (including strategic processes such as price band development and EVEs) to identify improvement opportunities and coordinate resolution
  • Lead training delivery for business partners on strategic pricing processes and assist with implementation and usage
  • Maintain value and activity metrics of team performance
  • Manage workload and facilitate adequate resourcing across the team globally
  • Ensure pricing processes are being applied and user inquiries are being addressed promptly
  • Ensure training for new product and pricing personnel in the CoE and the businesses is conducted in a timely and effective fashion, adjust training approach as needed
  • Maintain and execute a client engagement plan with the Marketing and Product Directors, including behavioral objectives, performance metrics, project plans, and all supporting resources
  • Lead and/or coach strategic and value pricing projects, improvement projects for business clients or the CoE
  • Leverage a working understanding of Eastman’s pricing systems and analysis tools (Vendavo, SAP, Salesforce and Tableau) to identify improvement opportunities and coordinate resolution

     

Qualifications:

 

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study from an accredited college or university; MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of work experience with practical opportunity to develop and utilize business and pricing acumen, preferably in Product Management, Pricing, Marketing, or Sales

 

Desired Skills/Experience

  • Enthusiasm for price management as well as energy and ideas for improving its application at Eastman
  • Experience in developing pricing strategies and executing said strategies
  • Demonstrated competence in development and use of business analytics
  • Demonstrated ability to present proposals, analytical data and recommendations effectively
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Analytical thinking, strong collaboration skills, creative approach to problem solving, and strong communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to lead and develop a team
  • Advanced computing skills a plus (Vendavo, Salesforce, Tableau, advanced Excel, SAP)
