The Logistics Packaged Truck Procurement Manager is responsible for more than $50M in spend or responsibility for multiple employees, contractors or company assets or has responsibility for large tank terminal(s) of EMN liquid products.

 

Monopolistic environment with high barrier to entry; may have full operations responsibility; high amount of travel. Significant impact on revenue; expert touch point for the business; complex set of suppliers; full regulatory responsibility; strong productive interaction with EMN Legal; expert knowledge of division procurement procedures.

 

Level III Managers are responsible for developing the strategy for their category, negotiating agreements with suppliers, driving relationships with suppliers to achieve a collaborative relationship that yields optimal benefits for Eastman Chemical’s Business.  Level III Managers will often deal with cross modal, operational and/or regional boundaries, involve Eastman assets, and/or involve larger logistics spend.

 

  • Work safely by being a role model, demonstrate and encourage safe work habits, and drive for zero incidents.
  • Develop sourcing strategy for assigned categories.
  • Fully understands EMN business needs.
  • Analyses markets of the industry.
  • Provides short term and long-term view.
  • Develops strategies which are often global in nature & require extensive collaboration with colleagues & suppliers that are outside the US.
  • Handles the needs of Raw Material sourcing.
  • Eastman subject matter expert on the industry.
  • Has full understanding of the financial performance of suppliers.
  • Negotiate Contracts with suppliers to support strategies.
  • Implements established logistics policies, procedures, and practices to meet requirements supporting short-/long-term business needs.
  • Develop & foster a relationship network within the suppliers.
  • In conjunction with Supplier Performance Manager; drive SRM’s for key suppliers.
  • Communicate with SC and other conduits to business as appropriate.
  • Serve on project teams.
  • Manages, motivates and assesses performance of a team of professionals, and supports their career development.
  • Responsible for category Procurement Plans.
  • Part of escalation chain for performance issues and crisis management.
  • Collaborate with rate auditing on invoice issues.
  • Role also may have Distr. Safety responsibilities outside NAR.

 

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree (Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Related preferred) from an accredited college or university.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Five to Ten years of Industry experience preferred.
  • Critical Quick Decision Making and Options Development.
  • Highly skilled in strategic relationship management.
  • High level of accountability and responsibility.
  • Leadership – can influence teams of people without having direct authority over those groups.
  • Computer Skills - Experience with e-sourcing procurement tools preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; SAP R3 and related software program applications preferred.
  • Communication Skills - Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), highly collaborative, and promotes cross functional teamwork.
