Job Summary:

This position will lead and manage all health, safety, environmental, and security (HSES) programs at the Jefferson, Pennsylvania Site location assisting the site in its vision of achieving zero injuries, zero environmental incidents and zero non-conformances. The position is a member of the site manager’s leadership team and reports directly to Corporate HSES Management.

 

Minimum Education Requirements

 

A Bachelor's Degree in a technical field such as: Occupational Safety and Health, Chemical Engineering, or other technical degree from an accredited university with experience as a Health, Safety, and/or experience in process safety management and/or industrial safety. HSE certifications (CSP, CIH) or a Professional Engineer License is considered a plus.

 

Job Duties

  • Some assignments may require rotation among various processes in order to provide optimum training and flexibility.

 

The following are more specific to this job assignment:

 

  • Manage a team of professional HSES personnel by setting strategic goals and performing routine performance assessments.
  • Provide regulatory interpretation, program development and implementation to sustain operations and maintain the facilities right to operate.
  • Drive critical HSES improvement programs and in a clear concise manner communicate program progress and resource needs to functional business and site leadership.
  • Lead and manage efforts to assure site compliance with all HSES applicable regulations that apply to the Manufacturing operations; current and projected.
  • Support and implement Corporate initiatives to include the ACC Responsible Care Management System.
  • Manage external third-party audits and inspections including regulatory agencies, insurance companies and other non-government agencies.
  • Manage local and state agency relationships and participate in advocacy activities at the community and local legislative, regulatory and trade association to minimize impacts on plant goals.
  • Manage HSES budgets and costs centers by conducting monthly cost reviews for all cost center owners and insure budget planning.
  • Develop and execute strategic HSES plans and Management Systems.
  • Travel associated with this position is less than 5%.
