The Environmental Coordinator for the Eastman – Jefferson Site supports the HSES Department by managing assigned environmental programs as the subject matter expert.  The Environmental Coordinator will work with the other members of the HSES team and will report to the site’s HSES Manager. 


Duties and Responsibilities:

- Manage the Site's hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal waste compliance programs

- Maintain compliance with the Site's NPDES Permit and pretreatment agreement

- Administer the Site's Aboveground Storage Tank program

- Coordinate on-site remediation activities

- Negotiate permits and consent orders with State and Federal agencies

- Maintain and update the Site's SPCC, SWPPP, and FRP Plans

- Represent the site during corporate audits and government inspections

- Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective actions

- Train hourly and salaried personnel on environmental responsibilities

- Perform field inspections and sampling work as needed

- Participate on corporate audit teams



BS in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering or science discipline

- 2 – 5 years environmental experience.  Experience in chemical industry is preferred.

- Familiarity with Federal and State water and waste regulation.  Experience with Pennslvania waste and Aboveground Storage Tank regulations strongly preferred.

- Availability for off-hours calls/consultations

- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, influence others and coordinate with others to ensure objectives are met.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to work well with both hourly (union) and management employees

- Proficiency with standard software packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and SAP.
