Role Description
An Information Technology & Business Shared Services presence is established in Hyderabad, India with the objective of providing information technology application development and support services.
Eastman’s IT organization is on the forefront of digitizing the enterprise and developing new solutions to support Eastman’s Circular Economy effort producing sustainable plastics and fibers to meet the needs of a growing world. Eastman is working to enhance the quality of life in a material way, and IT solutions are a critical enabler. The IT Project Manager is an individual contributor role that is focused on leading complex projects tied to strategic corporate initiatives with site, regional, organizational, and often global impact. You will be working independently building and leading diverse global project teams impacting everything from Manufacturing to Supply Chain, to R&D, to Sales and Marketing.
Key Responsibilities
- Project planning to include proper scope definition, resource allocations, scheduling, and adjustments to meet objectives.
- Overcome technical, cultural, and functional barriers to progress projects.
- Intervene as needed to correct deviations, deal with complex issues and surface/mitigate risks.
- Communicate the overall objectives, project progress, recommended improvements, and results to steering teams and leadership teams.
- Improve existing project management tools by incorporating learnings from project assignments.
- Coach less experienced project managers by sharing best practices, techniques, and tools.
- Execute significant change events in support of major corporate strategic initiatives using problem-solving methodologies, playbooks, change management tools, etc.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field (required)
- 5 years’ experience in leading projects and driving results (required)
- Training and use of formal agile and waterfall project management methodologies (required)
- Mature interpersonal skills to communicate with Eastman personnel from individual contributor to senior leaders. The ability to relay difficult or sensitive information tactfully is often necessary. Confidentiality is compulsory.
- Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously through solid organizational skills
- Experience leading and energizing teams
- Able to present ideas/concepts to all levels of the organization
- Diverse interpersonal skills (finesse, tact, negotiation, confidentiality)
- Able to influence without authority
- Familiar with common project management software
Preferred Qualifications
- Scrum Master Certified OR PMI Certified (desired)
- Experience leading projects in a manufacturing operation and/or supply chain environment (desired)
