Role Description

The EMEA and APR controlling departments are a key component of Eastman’s finance organization supporting over 5 billion dollars of revenue, manufacturing plants and a number of sales offices. The EMEA and APR controlling departments are based in The Netherlands and Belgium (EMEA) and in Singapore, China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan and Malaysia (APR) and is supported by our Finance Department in India (Hyderabad). The controlling departments in EMEA and APR are responsible for the general ledger accounting of Eastman businesses in EMEA and APR

 

We currently have a vacancy for a Country Accountant located in Hyderabad, India

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage full sets of accounts in accordance with US GAAP and applicable local GAAP.
• Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including conducting quality reviews.
• Prepare and ensure the accuracy of statutory financial reports.
• Coordinate and liaise with external parties such as auditors as required.
• Ensure compliance to US GAAP, local GAAP and related international accounting standards.
• Support organizational strategic initiatives within the organization.
• Ability to work independently and under time constraints, to a high level of accuracy.
• Undertake any other tasks and responsibilities as required.
• Adhere to relevant quality, environmental, health, and safety management system requirements.

Functional Skills and capabilities:

• Fluent in English both written and spoken.
• Has a "can-do" attitude, pro-active, flexible mind-set
• High level of accounting knowledge
• Working knowledge of key systems (SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI etc.) is essential.
• Is able to work in a dynamic environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to make sound and independent judgements.

Required Education / Job Experience:

• MBA finance /MCOM/Bcom, professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, or equivalent) preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant accounting or auditing experience, preferably within a multinational company.
• Process automation experience and thinking preferable.
