Role Description

The EMEA and APR controlling departments are a key component of Eastman’s finance organization supporting over 5 billion dollars of revenue, manufacturing plants and a number of sales offices. The EMEA and APR controlling departments are based in The Netherlands and Belgium (EMEA) and in Singapore, China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan and Malaysia (APR) and is supported by our Finance Department in India (Hyderabad). The controlling departments in EMEA and APR are responsible for the general ledger accounting of Eastman businesses in EMEA and APR 

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process for complex legal entities, incl quality reviews

• Prepare statutory reporting (preferable to have knowledge on German GAAP) • Prepare corporate income tax calculations and entries.

• Manage the group, statutory and tax audits of the entities in scope, including liaising with external auditors.

• Liaise with the other finance departments, namely Business Finance, Credit control, corporate accounting, Tax compliance teams

• Act as contact person with local service providers and resolve issues as required.

• Acts as subject matter expert.

• Any other ad hoc tasks 

Basic Qualifications

• CPA or CA degree

• 5+ years of relevant accounting or auditing experience in a multinational company

• in English both written and spoken • Has a "can-do" attitude, pro-active, flexible mind-set

• High level of accounting knowledge

• Strong understanding of the principles and practices of group GAAP to local GAAP conversion

• Working knowledge of key systems (SAP, Excel, Powerpoint, Power BI etc.) is essential

• Able to work in a dynamic environment and meet tight deadlines • Good interpersonal and communication skills

• Possess analytical and problem-solving skills

• Able to make sound and independent judgements
