The role
As the EMEA Regional Technical Service (TS) Manager for AMI (Advanced Materials Interlayers) Automotive you will lead your TS team  to provide differentiated  best in class technical service to our customers. You are working leader with a solid technical background in (automotive) glazing or thermoplastics processing. You will actively support the Technical Service Group in your region to enable expert lamination support to our customers in the automotive segment to ensure continued problem-free use of AMI Saflex® PVB interlayers and XIR® solar control film. In addition, you will leverage your technical expertise to act as the Technical Key Account Manager (TKAM) for one of AMI’s key global customers.

As the technical connection between the market and our customers you will regularly visit our key global customers, which will require up to 50% travel primarily within Europe

 

 

The responsibilities

  • Conduct regular visits / contact with the technical management at key customers to track & report back their needs & implement pre-determined account and product strategies
  • Swift response to customer complaints, plant audits, specification review, product sampling with appropriate follow-up to rectify the concerns
  • Translate the specific customer demands to an actual Eastman solution and motivate your team to assist our clients in the implementation
  • Being able to support launches of new products into the market place, you can not only influence Eastman’s growth but also contribute to technical innovation in general
  • Promote products at conferences and trade shows.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as a team member with Sales, Marketing, Technology, Manufacturing and other internal and external partners
  • Will champion ideas within a large organization and to lead project teams and improvement initiatives.
  • Work effectively in a busy, rapidly changing multilingual, multi-cultural environment.
  • Share learnings and best practices across the world regions.
  • Generate technical literature (i.e. lamination guides for new products).

 

 

 

Your background & qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master in Polymer or Material Science or other advanced degree in the field of Science
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in coaching technical teams and complex technology projects
  • Relevant experience within Automotive business
  • Ability to understand and guide work in a matrix-enabled organization
  • Ability to communicate the right level of detail to the right audience, at the right time
  • Fluent communication in English is a must. French, Dutch and/or German knowledge are a plus
  • Inquisitive and Result oriented mindset
  • Strong track record of technical project coordination
  • Quick learner and a self-starter
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Continuous Improvement mindset
