The Role
The EMEA and APR controlling departments are a key component of Eastman’s finance organization supporting over 5 billion dollars of revenue, manufacturing plants and several sales offices. The EMEA and APR controlling departments are based in The Netherlands, Belgium, and the UK (EMEA) and in Singapore, China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan and Malaysia and is supported by our Finance Department in India (Hyderabad). The controlling departments in EMEA and APR are responsible for the general ledger accounting of Eastman businesses in EMEA and APR.

Responsibilities
- Manage accounting transactions of specific legal entities
- Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process for complex legal entities
- Prepare corporate income tax calculations and entries
- Manage the group and statutory audits of the entities in the scope including liaising with external auditors
- Support special projects and assignments in accounting aspects
- Liaise with the other finance departments, namely Business Finance, Credit control, Corporate accounting, Tax compliance teams
- Act as contact person with local service providers and resolve issues as required
- Acts as subject matter expert
- Any other ad hoc tasks
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Accounting
- Preferably a CPA or CA degree
- 5+ years of relevant accounting or auditing experience in a multinational company
- Process automation experience and thinking preferable
- Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken
- Knowledgeable in German & US GAAP, German tax knowledge would be a preference
- Has a "can-do" attitude, pro-active, flexible mind-set
- High level of accounting knowledge
- Working knowledge of key systems (SAP, Excel, Powerpoint, Power BI etc.) is essential
- Can work in a dynamic environment and meet tight deadlines
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Possess analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to make sound and independent judgements
