This is the Role

As the Resin Pilot Plant Leader, you will be accountable for leading the resin pilot plant and contributing to new product and application development.  This is an excellent growth opportunity if you are interested in leading teams and projects and/or project teams.

As a Resin Pilot Plant Leader, you

  • Ensure daily safe work practices by driving Zero Incident Mindset.
  • Co-Manage and direct operational staff to ensure safe and reliable manufacturing operations.
  • Monitor all aspects of the Resin operation, including equipment and quality results.
  • Troubleshoot operational and quality issues, and partner with on-site engineers, maintenance and other operational staff to minimize A-grade losses and downtime.
  • Develop run plans, shutdown plans, and startup checklist in collaboration with engineering, supply chain, and maintenance teams.
  • Establish a strong relationship/partnership with on-site supporting departments to understand needs, issues, and priorities and coordinate technical activities.
  • Lead root cause analyses of process upsets and equipment failures to identify corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Lead and participate on multi-disciplinary teams
  • Communicate results through effective written documentation and oral presentations
  • Develop and Implement new processes (from design to start-up) and other forms of optimization.
  • Use engineering and statistical analyses and basic equipment operating knowledge to solve issues in the manufacturing processes.
  • Work in a fast-paced, results-oriented team environment to execute in the production of new formulations to support new product development.
  • Frequently consult and have direct interaction with on-site Production, Quality, WW Technology and Manufacturing to improve product quality, reduce byproducts, and develop options for producing new formulations

Full professional proficiency in Dutch and English is required.

 

This is what you bring

  • A Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering is required for this role; first working experience is considered as a plus.
  • Broad background in physical properties of polymers, experience in polymer processing of masterbatch formulations is considered as a plus
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written
  • Good analytical skills and statistical insight
  • High level of initiative and leadership ability
  • Excellent organization and planning skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Experience: Design of Experiment, Minitab, and/or 6-sigma training preferred
  • Willingness to travel between Eastman Locations in Belgium
