What is the role?

The Mechanical Integrity Manager is responsible for maintaining the mechanical integrity of the installations by carrying out inspections and following the corrective actions. He / she advises on repairs or replacements of, among other things, storage tanks, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pipes, bunds, pipe racks, safety valves, lifting and hoisting equipment, fire prevention, ...
He / She leads and coaches a team of 5 employees, supplemented with contractors and specialized contracting firms who are responsible for the coordination and practical implementation of the statutory inspections and the management of the technical warehouse.
He / She takes the necessary initiatives to guarantee and strengthen the expertise within the team.
He / She gives the highest priority to the safe execution of the inspection activities and coaches his / her team to improve continuously in the field of safety, among other things by drawing up and using inspection instructions and Task-Risk Analyzes.
Furthermore, he / she takes into account requirements with regard to correct and qualitative performance of the work.

 

Tasks & responsibilities

Mechanical Integrity
• Supervises the correct and timely execution of the statutory inspections.
• Defines inspection requirements for non-legal devices based on the expected damage and the available techniques.
• Initiates and leads Root Cause Analysis in case of equipment failures.
• Optimizes the inspection strategy of the devices in order to achieve an optimal Shut Down planning.
• Coordinates the investment proposals from his / her department with regard to maintaining and / or improving the integrity of the installations.
• Monitors the optimal deployment of Eastman and Contractor Resources.
• Evaluates and optimizes the outsourcing strategy.
• Stimulates good and open communication of his / her service with other maintenance services, Operations and Engineering.
Technical Warehouse
• Supervises the activities of the technical warehouse.
Budget Responsibility

• Is responsible for the inspection budgets assigned to him / her.
• Supervises the stock value and, together with the purchasing department, studies possible optimization of warehouse management.
People Management
• Communicates internal regulations and instructions from management to the department and vice versa.
• Ensures periodically organized quality team meetings in which the involvement and active contribution from the team is essential.
• Provides transfer of knowledge and experience.
• Contributes to the development of staff within the department both on a technical level and on desired attitudes.
• Oversees the management and execution of the training plans for the team.

• Stimulates open feedback culture as the basis for strong ownership with each team member
• Actively rewards the right behavior.

Candidate profile

- Educational level : master's degree specialized in Electricity, Instrumentation or electromechanincs - Experience in preventive maintenenance or legal inspection is a big asset. - You give priority attention to the safety aspects of the department.- You are a people manager with strong interpersonal and communication skills. - You have strong analytical and problem solving skills.- You are result oriented in your approach and have a good self-management skills.- Sense of initiative and flexibility are essential in this job.
