Responsibilities

The Logistics Planning Team Lead manages logistics planning personnel, assets and coordinates with suppliers across multiple modes. 
Manages the daily logistics execution process of all  logistics activities within the domain. Acts as the local logistics representative to local suppliers, cross functional teams (incl. Customer Service). 
Collaborates extensively across Logistics Operations and Procurement Managers to identify early performance problems with suppliers and support the strategic sourcing strategy where needed. 
Typical duties and responsibiliites are :

•    Supervises, motivates and coaches employees regarding individual performance and development needs, displaying courageous leadership when presented with challenging situations. Ensures back-up plans are in place.
•    Coordinates all activities to assure adherence to carrier and delivery schedules, ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain the highest standards of safety and quality.
•    Identifies opportunities for improvement to increase team efficiency. 
•    Attends regional meetings; serves as escalation point for site management and business. 
Provides input for supplier performance issues.
•    Evaluates service with an understanding on the impacts of costs to businesses and offers options to improve performance; ensure cost vs. performance criteria are understood by the team.
•    Ensures all ISO standard and other compliance requirements are met and maintained. Often DGSA responsible for DG sites or delegated as required.
•    Supports customer complaint investigation and acts as a champion of quality. 
•    Supports the EMEA Logistics Strategic projects
•    May lead Logistics/Supply Chain project teams 
 

Qualifications

•    Experience leading a team management, preferably in a logistics environment. 
•    Master's or bachelor’s degree in logistics or related fields
•    Must possess strong leadership and facilitation skills, including conflict resolution
•    Supply chain and logistics experience required
•    SAP experience is a strong plus.
•    Must be proficient in using PC applications (Microsoft Outlook, Excel)
•    Ability to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English. Any additional language skills are of advantage. 
•    Well organized and detail oriented with the ability to multitask with a high degree of agility & adaptability. 
•    Resourceful problem solver with proven ability to bring quick resolution to challenging situations in a calm and professional manner
