The Role

 

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for day to day management and growth of their assigned customer base and territory. Typical customers are distributors in the animal nutrition industry, feedmills and integrators. This individual will develop account and territory management plans and generate sales leads, initiate prospecting calls, and establish an ongoing rapport with existing and potential customers. Typical products are basic organic acid blends, liquid choline chloride and to a lesser extent single organic acids. Whilst the role requires a low degree of travelling, some travelling will be required to establish and maintain solid working relationships with customers.
 

Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for day to day management and growth of their assigned customer base and territory. This individual will develop account and territory management plans and generate sales leads, initiate prospect calls, and establish ongoing relationship with existing and potential customers.
     
  • Service existing accounts consisting of order follow-ups; complaint handling; resolving credit concerns; sample follow ups; and other account related issues
  • Provide Voice of Customer feedback including product quality, application, performance, needs service issues and concerns
  • Communicate the entire offering and value, including product/service features and benefits, prices, and credit terms
  • Provide ongoing sales demand forecasts in Salesforce
  • Work in Salesforce to document call reports, opportunities and account plans
  • Negotiate business to close including pricing, sales terms and other conditions, often in the form of contractual agreements
  • Majority of customer interaction will be phone/email based but regular F2F customer interaction is required too (approx. 30 visits per year)

Required qualifications and experience

 

  • Veterinarian or animal science background essential, additional business education is a plus 
  • Previous inside sales or customer service experience beneficial
  • Traits: passion for selling, tenacious, Inquisitive
  • Experience with Sales Force.com and other sales systems and tools
  • Fluent command of both English  AND French language, essential 
  • Potential and ambition to grow into account manager role
