Role Profile

To serve as Shift Maintenance support staff for the Martinsville Performance Films sites. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to routine breakdown support, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and general site repairs for the Martinsville PC/PFP/PFW locations. 

Responsibilities

  • Must Demonstrate Safety Conscious Worker Habits and strong Attendance Record.
  • Must have a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical failures operating systems and equipment. Specifically dye manufacturing, roll-to-roll winding, coating and converting equipment, rewinding equipment, slitters, extrusion equipment, vacuum deposition systems and general facilities infrastructure.
  • Ability to actively participate in hazard reviews, management of change reviews and process safety reviews.
  • Must be able to interpret and apply applicable ASME and OSHA codes and standards as defined by site leadership, maintenance leadership and SMEs.
  • Perform duties including mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Must be able to generate and maintain required documentation for preventative maintenance and repairs per Site and Corporate standards.
  • Utilize SAP for parts ordering, Work Notification and Work Order Management.
  • Trained in Eastman Management of Change (MOC) process and utilize this system for changes/modifications.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external customers.  Interface with management, operations and contractors.
  • Manage contractors and spare parts associated with the reliability of the operating plant systems at PC/PFP/PFW but also be able to support as needed all other performance films Martinsville site locations (FLD and Axton).
  • Must be willing to travel to all Fieldale, Martinsville, and Axton locations as needed.
  • Must be able to read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics/drawings.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Complete permits for safe work (critical lift, break-in lines, impairment, elevated work, drill permits, hot work, etc.) as execution force. Includes required PJHA documentation.
  • Mechanical skills include abilities to mechanically and electrically troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, remove and replace components using standard hand and power tools and simple fabrication and modification tasks and inspections.
  • Electrical skills include simple wiring of 3 phase 480V-12V motors and control circuits, control system repair, safety interlock systems – preferred.
  • Create maintenance work notifications, complete maintenance work orders, and document repairs with detailed technical records.
  • Advise and support leadership on all improvement opportunities and requirements, work orders, shutdowns, and budgeting associated with areas of responsibility (CAPEX and Expense related).
  • Perform general maintenance work as needed to site (lights, doors, floors, walls, drains, restrooms and other general building systems and infrastructure.
  • On call for equipment issues/repairs as needed.
  • Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills required.
  • Ability to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Must be able to work safely at heights using scissor lifts, articulating lifts, and ladders.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in various environmental conditions.
  • Must be able to work rotating 12 hr shift schedule.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required

Industrial maintenance mechanical or electrical certification or degree is preferred.

Have or be able to develop a general knowledge of the facility, safety and regulatory requirements for the site as well as any departments working in, basic computer skills, basic language and mathematics skills, become knowledgeable of a variety of software packages including corporate systems, i.e., Microsoft Office products, Intranet, SAP, etc.
  8. Demonstrate a commitment to safety, proactively working safely and protecting the environment and members of the team as well as self.
  9. Be able to accept and provide constructive feedback.
  10. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed and be on call for emergencies. 
  11. Must be able to climb, lift, and push with no special restrictions.  Must occasionally access and work at elevated locations on platforms, in tight areas under machines and confined spaces. 
  12. Must be capable of handling stressful emergency situations and do complex troubleshooting and then take timely corrective action.
