Job Summary
The Quality Specialist will play a crucial role in enhancing plant quality processes and control. This position focuses on continuous improvement initiatives, quality control, and the implementation of best practices to optimize product quality and operational efficiency. The Quality Specialist will lead critical quality improvement projects, facilitate the translation of knowledge among global assets, and collaborate closely with the regional quality manager to drive plant improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership in Quality Improvement Projects:
- Lead and manage critical quality improvement projects from initiation to completion.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Collaboration with Regional Quality Manager:
- Work closely with the regional quality manager to identify and implement plant improvement initiatives.
- Cooperate on strategic planning and execution of quality enhancement projects across the region.
Knowledge Translation:
- Facilitate the sharing and translation of quality-related knowledge and best practices among global assets.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure consistent application of quality standards across international locations.
Quality Improvement Initiatives:
- Develop and implement quality improvement plans to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Identify areas for improvement through data analysis and stakeholder feedback.
Quality Control:
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure products meet industry standards and customer expectations.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain high-quality standards.
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies to stay updated on quality requirements.
Data Analysis:
- Analyze quality data to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and present reports on quality metrics and improvement initiatives.
Training and Development:
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance quality awareness and skills among staff.
- Mentor and support plant personnel in quality improvement techniques.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to drive quality improvements.
- Serve as a liaison between the plant and quality team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in leading quality improvement projects.
- Strong knowledge of quality improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, C&E, FMEA tools or similar.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
Working Conditions:
This position may require occasional travel to other plant locations. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in quality management (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma Black Belt). Experience in the roll to roll productions Familiarity with ISO9001 standards and regulatory requirements.
