- The Resin Pilot Plant Leader will be accountable for leading the resin pilot plant and contributing to new process development and process improvements. This is an excellent growth opportunity for a junior leader.

This is the role:
- Maintain High Safety Performance◦Understand the concepts for process safety management and actively design according to those principles
- Ensure daily safe work practices, by driving to a Zero Incident Mindset
- Co-manage and direct operations staff to ensure safe and reliable operations
- Develop and Champion a Strategic Vision for the Resin Pilot Plant◦Set short term and long-term vision for success
- Lead a cross-functional team develop new processes and products◾Working in a fast-paced result-oriented multidisciplinary team environment
- Exhibit a high level of initiative
- Direct work of operators
- Effectively communicate and collaborate across enterprise◦Establish a strong partnership with on-site supporting departments to understand needs, issues, and priorities and coordinate technical activities
- Frequently interact with global manufacturing and technology personnel
- Communicate plans and results through effective written documentation and oral presentations
- Invent, improve, trouble-shoot and debottleneck resin processes ◦Conduct experiments in the pilot plant
- Apply statistical tools effectively (6-Sigma, design of experiments, Minitab)
- Analyze results, solve complex problems, and document conclusions
- Lead root case analysis of process upsets and equipment failures to identify corrective actions to prevent recurrence
This is what you bring :
- A Masters degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in chemical industry
- Experience in pilot plant of plant scale chemical manufacturing environment required
- Demonstrated creativity and a desire to solve challenging and complex problems
- Strong project management and team leadership skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to work in a team environment
- Willingness to travel between Eastman locations in Belgium
