Description

Maintenance and Stores Specialist for Eastman Chemical’s Anniston, Alabama Plant.  At this location, the company manufactures a family of industrial heat transfer fluids and aviation hydraulic fluids. 

 

This position is accountable for Management of Storeroom inventory for the Anniston facility including issuing of all materials and receiving all incoming shipments.  Provide support to the Maintenance Department for materials ordered through projects and work orders.  Management of the Vendor Managed Inventor program including working with vendors on pricing and stocking quantities.  Management of repair process for all Storeroom materials. Replenishment of stocking inventories levels based on site requirements. Complete cycle counts at Anniston site to maintain accurate on-hand inventory. This role will also be responsible for some Maintenance planning of work orders, and kitting of jobs.

Responsibilities

  • Manages day-to-day operations of Storeroom at the Anniston plant
  • Performs all material goods receipts/goods issue activities and related inventory transactions and adjustments based on plant usage
  • Manages the MRO replenishment stock ordering process for the storeroom in a timely manner resulting in a steady inventory level flow
  • Reviews daily inventory requirements to determine valid requirements are in stock, taking into consideration excess on-hand/work in process materials
  • Manages the Vendor Managed Inventory program including setup of stock quantities, adjustment of on-hand quantities and addition of any new inventory requirements to meet the day-to-day requirements of maintenance/production
  • Manages repair process for all repairable GMNs (internal and external) including the issuing of the materials, requisitions, shipping, receiving, and scrapping of materials and /or replenishment of inventory if applicable
  • Completes daily, weekly, monthly cycle counts per Eastman procedures
  • Creates new GMNs, maintains valid safety stock, storeroom locations, labeling and ensures applicable information is correctly assigned in GMN
  • Evaluates that GMN lead time/stocking quantity is compatible with the material management system and works with leadership to adjust inventory levels based on plant requirements
  • Assist Maintenance planner as designated back up and provide SAP assistance on key activities
  • Provide leadership over a portion of maintenance jobs to plan and kit as needed, focusing on site planned outages and other scheduled activities
  • Work with site cross functional team to maintain critical spares
  • Working knowledge of plant operations to optimize stores inventory

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of Industrial Safety policies and procedures
  • Good planning, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of technical & manufacturing equipment specifications
  • Good organizational and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to solicit input and support of others at various levels in the organization
  • Experience with SAP maintenance systems, as well as skill in other general computer software programs (Microsoft Office, Microsoft project, etc.) desirable

Required Experience

  • =>1 year inventory management experience
  • =>1 year SAP Experience

Preferred Experience

  • =>3-5 years maintenance experience in an industrial environment
  • Associated degree desirable
  • Previous Chemical Industry experience
  • Previous leadership experience
