We are searching for a dynamic Human Resources Specialist to join the Anniston, Alabama and Texas City, Texas HR Team. The ideal candidate is adaptable, proactive and professional with demonstrated capability of working in a high-energy, team-oriented environment to achieve results.  Candidate must show strong attention to detail and possess exceptional communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.  Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for working with people at all levels, across Eastman.  Maintaining professionalism and exercising integrity in handling confidential information at all times is a necessity. This role will be based in Alabama but travel will be required to the Texas location that it also supports

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Use in-depth human resources knowledge to assist HR Manager and line supervision in interpreting and consistently applying policies, programs, and processes.
  • Gather, consolidate, and draft information for internal and external correspondence, presentations, and reports with precision, accuracy and a keen eye for detail.
  • Perform data analysis and provide recommendations to the HR Manager.
  • Serve on project teams, which may include leading teams, leading meetings, spearheading initiatives, and representing HR on cross-functional teams.
  • Facilitate HR transactions related to personnel moves, performance evaluations, changes in compensation, hires and terminations.
  • Serve as focal point for and collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Compensation, Benefits and other HR Centers of Excellence.
  • Draft personnel announcements and coordinate communication plans.
  • Develop and maintain HR metrics for Texas City and Anniston.
  • Serve as a focal point for HR-related questions from employees and managers.
  • Audit and manage HR-related electronic files for Texas City and Anniston.
  • Demonstrate an ability to effectively plan, schedule and organize by assisting in scheduling and preparing for meetings, including coordinating logistics, assembling background information, and preparing agenda, presentations, reports and meeting minutes.
  • Conduct HR portion of new hire onboarding.

 

Skills and Capabilities:

 

Required:

  • Associates Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Human Resources required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 1- 3 years of HR related experience in multiple areas such as payroll, employee HRIS and reporting, sourcing and selection, employment law, employee relations, compensation and benefits, etc. Will consider Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field in lieu of experience.
  • Must be dependable and set the example for exceptional dependability for other professionals.
  • Capability of maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate, error-free work.
  • Strong SharePoint, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.
  • Patience and pleasant interaction with others; service oriented.
  • Outstanding ability to take initiative and to assume responsibility for projects, and to improve processes.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Ambitious and a willingness to think outside the box to deliver creative solutions.
  • Superb judgment, maturity, and professionalism.

  • 10% Travel to other sites.

 

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a union environment.
  • Proficiency in SAP/R3 and reporting applications.
