Chemical Operator

The selected individual will assure all production activities are conducted in a safe, responsible and environmentally sound manner in compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies. This includes:

 

Responsibilities
Maintaining, controlling and monitoring process equipment following standard operating procedures
Troubleshooting process problems as necessary and performing minor maintenance
Staying abreast of process changes and communicating status at shift turnover meetings
Taking samples and performing minor analytical tests, monitoring the results of the samples and taking corrective actions if necessary
Recording process and production data according to departmental requirements
Supporting supervisors and engineers to troubleshoot problems and enhance production, quality and safety
Staying up to date on computer software and equipment (Delta-V, SAP and Outlook)
Detect faulty equipment by inspection, testing, or general knowledge of the work
Assist in basic root cause failure analysis (RCFA) on equipment
Work from drawings, written specifications, sketches, job plans, and oral instructions
Support Zero Incident Mindset and utilize Safe Work Practices, including LOTO, Confined Space, Permitting, Work from Elevation, etc.


Required Skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to excel in a team environment while working with minimal supervision
Must be knowledgeable of safety and environmental processes and procedures

 

In addition to the above requirements, all external candidates must meet the following:


Successful completion of a physical assessment
Must be able to wear a respirator
Must be able to repeatedly climb and descend stairs/ladders of up to eight stories
Must be able to work rotating shifts that include weekends

 

Required Experience
3 years manufacturing experience or a two-year degree in a related field
Chemical processing background preferred
PSM experience / familiarity with PSM requirements a plus

Years of Experience: 2+ to 5 Years

Level of Education: High School Diploma or GED

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Salary Type: Hourly

Shift Work: Required (1st, 2nd & 3rd shift)

Travel: No Travel Required
