Role Profile

The HR Manager acts as a strategic partner to the line management of the site supported and is responsible for overall Swiss HR operations (incl. payroll, social security, tax at source and labor law issues).  The HR Manager works to align HR processes and initiatives to the business/functional strategy and drives talent outcomes. As a full member of the Site Leadership team, the HR Manager coaches, inspires and leads a team of HR professionals. while they coordinate with multiple, often global, corporate/functional HRBPs. The location that this HR Manager supports has high complexity and business impact.


Strategic Partner

  • Work closely with appropriate Human Capital Partners(s) to align people strategy for the site supported with function/business
  • Understand and contribute to strategy development of the site supported
  • Understand the talent needs of the site, including support with development/ succession planning
  • Identify/address talent gaps before they impact business
  • Be a trusted business partner for local expatriate policies, its implications and implementation
  • Adjust HR strategies to respond to changing needs

Operations Manager

  • Overall Swiss HR operations responsibility (incl. payroll, social security, tax at source, labor law issues and employee lifecycle)
  • Counsel managers and employees on HR policies and procedures
  • Maintain/monitor and act on critical HR metrics
  • Assess/track and address employee attitudes/behaviors
  • Design/adapt HR programs to fit operating strategy
  • Keep line updated on HR initiatives
  • Active collaboration on Corporate projects

Employee Mediator

  • Manage conflict between employees and managers, and between line leadership
  • Resolve political issues in the execution of business plans

Emergency Responder

  • Quickly respond to line manager and employee questions or complaints
  • Respond to manager and employee needs
  • Supervise, coach and develop a team of HR professionals


  • Swiss federal diploma of higher education (“HR-Fachfrau/Fachmann”)
  • At least 5-8 years’ experience in HR
  • HR Generalist experience preferred
  • Proficiency in German and English
