The Site Development Engineer will serve as the Texas City site operations representative with potential Eastman - Texas City site tenants, on all technical matters related to the development and execution of site business development projects.  The Site Development Engineer will assist Eastman’s Corporate Site Development staff and Eastman’s Legal staff in developing project-related agreements.  In this role, the Site Development Engineer is responsible for understanding Eastman’s site operations and for ensuring that Eastman’s needs continue to be met while integrating the tenant’s project.  The Site Development Engineer will work closely with site operations, logistics, HSES, maintenance, engineering, and the tenant, to determine the best solutions for meeting Eastman’s and the tenant’s needs.
Responsibilities will also include interacting with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Environmental and Safety personnel to optimize utility and material handling/logistics operations at the site.  This position reports to the Manufacturing Manager for the Texas City site.

Job Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities will be to represent Eastman as the operations representative on site business development projects:
•    assist Eastman’s Corporate Site Development staff and Eastman’s Legal staff in developing project-related agreements
•    interface with site personnel to identify limitations and develop optimal solutions for solving potential tenant’s land, utility, and services needs
•    identify how best to maximize the value to the site and the business through the provision of site services
•    identify how the site can add value to the potential tenant
•    obtain support to improve site infrastructure as needed
•    ensure that internal stakeholders are fully engaged in identifying site infrastructure and service imitations and the development of the solutions
•    address tenant questions and requests
In addition, this role may be asked to:
•    positively influence people development and institutionalizing Eastman core values
•    promote institutionalizing Eastman Operational Excellence in Manufacturing at Eastman’s Texas City Site

•    support technical program for Utilities and Logistics

  • define and implement plans for needed changes and improvement projects in the areas of safety, quality, reliability and cost
  • define and forecast required capital for improving safety, reliability and capability of Utilities and Logistics
  • identify process bottlenecks and develop projects to provide incremental capacity increases

•    manage day-to-day operations

  • Troubleshoot problems
  • Provide technical support to and transfer of operational knowledge to Team Managers and Operators
  • Actively participate in safety programs, e.g., audits, PHAs, PSSRs, MOC, JSAs, etc.


•    minimum required education -- B.S. in Chemical Engineering from accredited college/university
•    work experience – five or more years of related manufacturing experience

  • Utilities and Logistics experiences preferred

•    other – willingness to relocate to the Texas City/Houston area
•    Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) required
