Eastman is currently seeking an experienced Cost Analyst for our Texas City, TX facility.  Responsibilities for this role inclde but are not limited to the following:

  • Cost Analyst support of Texas City Maintenance and Capital
  • Responsible for monthly closings
  • Develops and maintains appropriate reporting applications
  • Works with the Maintenance, Engineering and 3rd party contractors as appropriate to resolve issues and address concerns
  • Coordinates processing of annual cost estimates and activities and cost updates as needed
  • Ensures integrity of site maintenance and manufacturing cost information
  • Ensures fixed asset accuracy
  • Observance of physical inventories
  • Support Texas City leadership team including monthly reporting, monitoring, analyzing, and addressing specific requests.
  • Assists with cost reduction valuations.
  • Serve as a liaison to Controllers Division
  • Ensure adherence to corporate processes and procedures
  • Educate site personnel on pertinent accounting developments and changes in corporate processes and procedures

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Masters in Accounting is required; Masters degree preferred
  • Good understanding of SAP Cost Accounting processes and transactions
  • Good understanding of current IT technology and how to apply it to drive improvements
  • Proficiency in use of appropriate software applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to flex hours to meet deadlines, accounting closing schedules, and to meet urgent information needs
  • Good data analysis skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • 2+ years of experience is preferred
