The Logistics Operations Manager is responsible for managing a group of planners and it may be site specific or mode specific. The Operations Manager is accountable for driving key initiatives to maintain customer requirements, and normally will have 10 or more direct reporting employees, and may be involved in service escalation. Additionally, the Logistics Operations Manager may serve as the Complaint Steward for a particular mode/category.

 

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with supply chain execution to improve order process and its impact on logistics planning
  • Optimizes workload across planning desks
  • Leads employee participation in identifying technology and business process enhancements
  • Fosters an understanding of logistics planning strategies and needs with Supplier Operations, Supplier Performance Management and Logistics Procurement
  • Ensures planners have a clear understanding of expectations (both strategic and operational) and performance measures
  • Coaches and develops team members
  • Participates in service issue escalations with suppliers

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree (Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Related preferred) from an accredited college or university.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong set of supervisory skills including talent management, verbal and written communicaiton, collaboration and coaching. 
  • Logistics familiarity is extremely valuable.
