The Position

The successful candidate will report to the site Engineering Manager and support both project and general engineering work.

 

The Role

  • Preparation of detailed drawings and design packages to allow piping/equipment to be fabricated and installed.
  • Support capital projects from conception and ensure the approval, design, procurement, construction and commissioning, are safe, efficient, and maintainable.
  • Accountable for ensuring that assigned projects comply with all relevant internal & external standards/requirements.
  • Provide the Projects Manager (or designee) with expenditure forecasts for assigned projects.
  • Undertake the mechanical engineering design for assigned projects.
  • Actively undertake safety participation activities and assigned site safety actions.
  • Provide occasional incident/accident investigation support.
  • Update of record drawings such as EFD’s, hazardous areas, site layout, means of escape.

 

The Person

Will ideally be working towards becoming a member of Institute of Mechanical Engineers, and either be a degree qualified mechanical engineer or have equivalent experience working in a similar environment.

Key experience would ideally include:

  • Drafting experience using Microstation V8i (Series 3)
  • Knowledge of drawing & file management using ProjectWise V8i (Series 4)
  • Project management experience.
  • Working in and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Supervision and monitoring of site construction activities.
  • High degree of initiative and ability to plan, prioritize, and work with minimal supervision.
