Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Intellectual Property Management; namely enforcement, oversight and detection of infringement of trademarks, domain names, copyright.
  • Enforcement of IP rights (trademark, patent, trade secret, etc.) such as manage and collect evidence on suspected infringement. Liaising with local authorities during enforcement.
  • Assist in IP issues relating to local and regional innovation, including IP training, advice on patent filing, management of service invention, working closely with the IP team in the US.
  • Advice on licensing of IP, and prepare legal documentation in both English and Chinese.
  • Assist in litigation, including evidence collection and document drafting; preparing submission for enforcement; conducting enforcement; maintain, file and update IP databases.
  • Intellectual property and general contract administration
  • Assist to address intellectual property issues with our distributors/dealers.
  • General trade mark matters; handling intellectual property matters in China, including filing of trade mark applications, dealing with objections raised by the Trade Marks Registry, advising on how to deal with the objections, advising on assignment, registered user / license, evidence of use etc., arranging trade mark searches to be conducted, advising on the search results etc., and advising on simple opposition matters;
  • Handling patent, design and trade mark pre-filing search, prosecution and registration matters, management and administration of patent, design and trade mark applications and registrations.
  • Willing to develop commercial legal skills, provide advice to businesses and work with the corporate law team.
  • Translating multiple documents legal or otherwise into English and Mandarin.
  • Representing the company in local IP organizations.
  • Functioning as a key member of a US-based law department.
